AgriTech AI Startup Harvested Robotics Bags INR 5 Cr

Hyderabad-based AI agritech startup Harvested Robotics just raised 5 CR in pre-seed funding led by Arali Ventures and angel investors like Anand Mahindra and Chakradhar Gade.

The company plans to use the additional funds for staff expansion, product development, and product pilots.

Founded in 2023 by Rahul Arepaka and George Mathew. The Hyderabad-based company provides a chemical-free, environmentally friendly substitute for conventional weed control. Its AI-powered laser weeder is mounted on tractors and uses robotic actuators to remove weeds with high-power lasers after detecting them with cameras and AI models. This encourages organic farming, raises yields, and lowers farming expenses.

Weeding is a farming technique that has traditionally been carried out by hand by laborers or with the use of pesticides to protect farm fields from weeds and diseases and guarantee a good crop.

The laser technology requires one person to drive a tractor instead of two-three people indulging in the traditional time taking method of removing weeds.

“We are developing laser weeding equipment for tractors that employs cameras with an AI algorithm to identify weeds. When the tractors are driving, we employ high-power lasers that are controlled by robotic actuators to shoot at weeds in real time, Arepaka said.

Arepaka added that Harvested Robotics intends to launch the device by January of next year, which should result in a 40–50% reduction in weeding process costs. Regarding the technical tool’s price, he stated that it has not yet been decided but may be approximately INR 10 lakh.
