In the fertile belt of Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh, small and marginal farmers have long suffered a familiar plight. Heavy dependence on local middlemen, unpredictable price crashes, expensive farm inputs and squeezed profit margins.
A group of dynamic youngesters from the Sandauli village Umarpur decided to change the narratives. Under the Government of India’s flagship 10,000 Farmer Producer organizations Formation and Promotion Scheme (implemented through SFAC), ShivBanki Farmer Producer Company limited was formed on 24 July, 2023.
The dynamic team consist of Directors Atul Kumar, Bhanu Pratap Yadav, Maneesh Yadav, Rajkumar and Sakshi, along with the CEO Ramendra Kashyap, Accounts Officer Ajendra Singh and Secretary Ashish Yadav, who are dedicated to grow and lead the organization and plays an important role in the growth and success of the organization.

Initial Obstacles to Innovation:
The roads is not steady at all. Major roadblocks were Farmer mobilization and Limited capital. But rather to wait, Shivbanki FPO taken the matters into their own hands. To connect farmers and consumers, FPO launched its flagship retail brand “Shaak Sabji Har Ghar ke Liye” in Lucknow.
The FPO assured: By pooling fresh vegetables and fruits directly from farm gates.

For Farmers Instant market access, no exploitation by middlemen and higher farmgate prices. To further reduce production costs, Shivbanki also opened an Agri-Input Outlet at Lakhaicha Chauraha in Barabanki. The FPO supplies its farmers’ vegetables to the company Mulyam. They sells seeds and products based on crop protections and gives important guidance with Shetipurak Agritech & Services through district distributorship for Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

The FPO today partners with vendors like:
- Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd. (For ethanol procurement, they do maize procurement)
- For procurement of Potatoes, they take help from National Cooperative Development Federation of India.
- For Grain Procurment, they take help from National Bulk handling Corporation
- For digital platform e-Nam, ONDC, GeM, NeML and Q- Commerce platforms are also connected with them.

What Next:
Target ₹5 CroreShivbanki FPO is aggressively entering into its next phase of growth, but logistics and working capital continue to be challenges on the path of expansion. The FPO has obtained the APMC Mandi license., dedicated cold storage and processing facilities and expand its retail outlets in urban markets. The company is on track to achieve a turnover of ₹5 Crore. And doing revenue of 1.25 Cr every year.
