About Founder and Creating CropEngine:
CropEngine was not assembled in some remote, sterile corporate laboratory by city engineers guessing at farm problems. It was built by someone who lived the reality of a crisis. Dr.Shannugam was born in a rural farming family in Theni, Tamilnadu. Growing up, he saw first hand the heartbreak of his father losing crops and hard-earned income to repeated fungal attacks.
It all started with a simple but powerful childhood question: “What if we can detect the fungus before it appears on the plants?”
That childhood dream became his motivation to pursue a PhD in Horticulture. Under the guidance of his professors, he realized that it was essentially the wrong approach to try to cure a plant after it had fallen ill.
