SmartU Wins Maharathi Award at Start-up Mahakumbh2025

Nagpur-based agritech startup SmartU has been honored with the Marathi Start-up Challenge Award in the Agritech Category at the prestigious Start-up Mahakumbh 2025, held from April 3 to 5 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This accolade includes a ₹1 lakh grant, recognizing SmartU’s innovative contributions to the agricultural sector. SmartU is backed by premier incubators ABIF, IIT Kharagpur, and Manage Hyderabad, which fuel its innovation with expert guidance and state-of-the-art resources.

Start-up Mahakumbh 2025, organized by leading industry bodies such as FICCI, ASSOCHAM, and IVCA, with support from SIDBI, GEM, and DPIIT Startup India, is one of India’s largest platforms celebrating innovation. The event brought together over 3,000 startups, 500+ investors from more than 50 countries, and representatives from 788 Indian districts and 30 states/UTs. The inauguration was graced by Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who emphasized India’s trajectory towards becoming the world’s largest startup
ecosystem.

SmartU Krishi Khata, founded by Sachin Farfad Patil, provides cutting-edge solutions for farmers, including crop advisory, expense tracking, and yield optimization tools. The platform aims to help farmers increase productivity and profitability, thus transforming them into farm preneurs. This recognition at Start-up Mahakumbh follows SmartU’s recent global accolade, where it secured top three place in the ‘Beyond Boundaries Social Impact Pitch’ competition, being the only Indian startup to achieve this feat.

The award at Start-up Mahakumbh 2025 was presented to SmartU by Madan Patki, a respected figure in startup ecosystem in India, acknowledging SmartU’s innovation and impact on the agricultural community. The event was graced by Hon’ble Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Shark Tank India’s Aman Gupta, and other key dignitaries from India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
