Smallholder farmers make up 86% of India’s farming community. They have fragmented landholdings and face unpredictable weather, low crop yields, high input costs, inefficient irrigation, post-harvest losses, and limited market access—challenges that impact their livelihoods daily. The right technology can change this—but only when it is built with them, for them.
Techtonic: Innovations for Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods was launched to support disruptive innovations that directly address these challenges—improving productivity, enhancing efficiency, and increasing incomes.
About Techtonic:
Techtonic is started by Social Alpha. The program was launched by Mr. Onkar Pandey, Director of Livelihoods & Prosperity at Social Alpha in the SAMARTH Program of PUSA Krishi New Delhi. The objective of Techtonic Program is Innovations for Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods aims to curate innovative technologies that positively impact smallholder farmers.
The programme seeks to identify innovators and entrepreneurs who have transformational technologies and can solve challenges faced by farmers.
