The Department of Fisheries, GoI launched the Fisheries Startup Grand Challenge 2.0 on 8th March 2025. This initiative aims to foster innovation and support emerging entrepreneurs in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. Winning startups will receive a ₹10 lakh prize.
Building on the success of the first edition of their challenge, Department of Fisheries in collaboration with Startup India, DPIIT is launching the second Fisheries Startup Grand Challenge with the aim to further promote innovation and support budding entrepreneurs in fisheries and aquaculture.
Eligibility Criteria:
- All DPIIT Recognised startups are eligible to apply for the challenge.
- Any Individual Having a relevant idea per the problem statements proposed may also apply.

Incentives:
Fiscal Incentives | 2 winners would be chosen in each 5 problem statements, totaling 10 Grand Winners. Per Startup (INR): INR 10,00,000/- No. of Startups: 10 Seed Grant for 10 Startups – Total (INR): INR 1,00,00,000/- |
Non-Fiscal Incentives | Winning startups will access incubation facilities provided by ICAR, NFDB, and affiliated establishments under the DoF. Support includes capacity-building and access to manufacturing facilities for startups. |
