Bharat Intelligence Raises ₹7 Cr by Sahyadri Farms

Mumbai based Agritech startup Bharat Intelligence has raised Rs 7 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Sahyadri Farms.

The new funding will help with team growth, product development, and operational scaling in Western Maharashtra’s major horticultural areas, which include pomegranates, grapes, bananas, and tomatoes.

Founded in 2024 by Azhaan Merchant and Gourav Sanghai, The lack of farm labor is one of the most urgent issues facing agriculture, and Bharat Intelligence is working to address it.

Utilizing cutting-edge AI, the company’s technology arranges rural labor markets by forecasting demand trends, allocating work crews, and establishing connections with farmers via digital interfaces that prioritize vernacular.

“One of the biggest issues facing our farmers, especially in horticulture, is labor availability,” stated Vilas Shinde, Chairman and Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms.

It is impossible to comprehend India’s rural, highly physical economy from a cloud perspective alone. According to Azhaan Merchant, co-founder and CEO of Bharat Intelligence, “AI for India must be ingrained in rural life—sensitive to the subtleties of a handshake in a village market, the seasonal migration of workers juggling multiple livelihoods, and the trust networks that subtly regulate transactions.”
