Better Nutrition founders appeared on Shark Tank India

In Shark Tank India Season 4, Episode 30, Better Nutrition made an appearance. Better Nutrition, Founded by husband-wife duo Prateek Rastogi and Aishwarya Bhatnagar, this biofortified food company provides everyday nutrition by naturally integrating essential nutrients into daily meals.

Better Nutrition’s “Better Seeds” program, which collaborates with 150 farmers focusing on seed quality and preservation, is one of its main pillars.

By providing grains high in zinc, iron, protein, and calcium, the founders hope to bridge the nutrient gap in regular meals and improve immunity, energy, and general health without requiring significant dietary changes.

Better Nutrition’s product line includes;

Biofortified Atta (Flour): Wheat flour enriched with iron, zinc, and protein.
Biofortified Bajra Atta (Pearl Millet Flour): Rich in essential minerals.
Biofortified Ragi Atta (Finger Millet Flour): High in calcium and iron.
Biofortified Makka Atta (Maize Flour): Enhanced with vital nutrients.
Biofortified Chawal (Rice): Rice varieties with increased nutrient content.
Biofortified Daliya (Broken Wheat): A nutritious breakfast option.

The founders hope that their unique selling proposition and celebrity endorsement will get them a transaction of Rs 60 lakh for 1% equity.

Moving forward, Namita Thapar offered ₹60 lakhs for 1.5% ownership and 1% royalty till the amount was returned. The royalty will be paid once the company becomes successful.

Vineeta Singh offered ₹60 lakh for 2% equity, inspired by the founders’ aim of creating a brighter future.

After due consideration, Better Nutrition founders agreed to receive ₹60 lakhs from Namita Thapar for 1% equity and 0.5% royalty until the investment was returned.

Kunal Bahl told his colleagues that he had considered investing in Prateek and Aishwarya’s company a few months prior, but had decided against it because he wanted to give it a little more time to develop. Although he acknowledged Prateek as an excellent founder, he stated that he is still not totally persuaded by his strategy.
